However, you cannot submerge the display completely under water.

The Q20 is a lightweight (1.1 kg), digital metal detector on which you can easily read the object identification (metal type or object type) on the display. Based on the number values ​​that appear in the middle of the display, you can see what type of metal or object it is. For example, number 25 stands for iron, number 50 for gold and number 65 for a euro coin, etc. Numerical object identification is the new method for object identification. The numerical object identification in the Q20 goes from number 0-99.

The Quest Q20 can also filter out unwanted metals / objects. Based on numerical object discrimination, you can deactivate the numbers that you do not want to locate. This function is often used to exclude small iron parts such as nails, coasters and tension rings etc. from the search. For example, you can then filter out all objects with the object identification number of “25” or less (small iron parts depending on the value).

Depth
The search depth depends on the size of the object: About 25 cm for objects the size of a coin, up to 1 meter depth for large objects. Soil conditions such as mineralization also play a role in the depth of penetration.

Pinpoint function and depth display in centimeters
The Quest Q20 has a very precise pinpoint function; this allows you to locate the object precisely in the center so that you can dig out the object faster and more precisely. You can also read the approximate depth of the object in cm on the display.

Manual and automatic soil adjustment
Since there are different soils and they also have different mineralizations, the detector must also be adapted to it, since it can also happen that the minerals, which reflect the electromagnetic radiation similarly to a metal object, then cause false signals as such. For this reason there is automatic or manual ground leveling. With automatic ground leveling, the detector itself tries to balance the mineralization. Experienced probe users can also make this setting themselves, as this is usually more precise.
